The Department of Foreign Affairs revealed that they repatriated over six thousand overseas Filipino workers back to the country due to the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 pandemic.
4,687 seafarers returned home to the country from at least 30 cruise ships according to the report of DFA.

1,960 land-based OFWs on the other hand returned to the country since February. Majority of them came from Kuwait.
In a Facebook live video, the DFA said that repatriation continues for affected OFWs. The department however asked for patience because of flight limitations and travel restrictions from different countries.

The DFA also urged undocumented workers in Kuwait to avail its amnesty program so that they can go back home.
Bahrain has also waived fees for its flexi-visa program for migrants.
All returning OFWs will be subjected to quarantine protocols under the Bureau of Quarantine.
