Saudi Arabia has extended the validity of resident IDs of expatriates living in the Kingdom as the Arab state implements lockdown measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The General Directorate of Passports announced in its Twitter account that the resident identity cards of expatriates will be automatically extended for three months at no extra charge.

This applies to private sectors workers working in the commercial and industrial sectors whose cards have expired or will expire from March 18 until June 30, regardless if they are staying in the Kingdom or not.
The affected individuals will be notified of the extension by text message.
