Major retail outlets in UAE conduct thorough disinfection

Major retail chains and supermarkets across the UAE are undergoing disinfection drive and massive cleaning to ensure the health and safety of their products and supplies.
All personnel are now using a full set of personal protective equipment (PPEs) with gloves and facemasks while inside the premises of the store.
Supermarket chains Lulu and Spinneys said some of their stores will shut their stores for a day to undergo a scheduled deep cleaning, Khaleej Times reported.

“Please note that we are conducting a sanitation drive across our stores for health and safety purposes. During this time some of our stores will be closed for a day and shall reopen once complete,”
Spinneys announced through social media.
Spinneys branches at Umm Suqeim and Mercato Mall resumed operations on April 3.
Lulu Group, on the other hand, said the Lulu Hypermarket Khaladiya Branch in Abu Dhabi was shut on Thursday to conduct sterilization and deep cleaning activities and reopened the next day April 3.
“As part of our initiatives to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, we are currently carrying out deep cleaning and sanitization of the mall and all our stores,” Nandakumar V, Lulu Group International’s head of marketing and communications said.

Meanwhile, Al Maya Group’s owner Kamal Vachani said the firm maintans a very high level of sanitation and cleanliness in their 50 supermarkets.
“All our trolleys are sanitized and our staff are washing their hands frequently. Our staff are also wearing gloves and mask for the protection and safety of our customers,” he underlined.
