A couple in India have named their newborn twins Corona and Covid.
The twins are a boy and a girl and were born during the lockdown implemented in India on March 24.
“The delivery happened after facing several difficulties and therefore, my husband and I wanted to make the day memorable,” Preeti Verma, the 27-old mother of the twins, told India’s Press Trust.
The couple said they named their babies Corona and Covid to remind them about the hardships they faced during the health crisis.
The Indian government has implemented a nationwide lockdown to protect its over a billion population.
Only those working in essential services are allowed to go out.
