Duterte on calls for his ouster: Only military, police can do it

President Rodrigo Duterte dismissed Friday night demand for his ouster and implied that he will only step down if the military and the police will ask him to do so.
The president made the remark on his televised address after call for his removal from the presidency made rounds on social media.
Duterte’s statement about shooting down those who will cause chaos amid COVID-19 crisis fueled the hashtag #OustDuterte.

“‘Pag sinabi ng chief ng Army, Navy, Air Force, pati police, ‘pag sinabi nila silang apat mag punta dito, sinabi nila, ‘Duterte, bumaba ka na’, ngayon na agad,” Duterte said.
“Hindi na ‘yang oust-Duterte. Sila ang may hawak nito. ‘Yang pulis saka military. Kung gusto nila hindi mo na mapigilan. Ilan nang life-changing events sa buhay natin, it’s always the military and the police,” he added.
