Mobile app offers free grocery delivery service in Dubai

An app that provides free grocery delivery service to answer the sudden surge of online shoppers brought by coronavirus pandemic is gaining popularity in Dubai.
The app ‘Daily by Talabat’, which was launched two months ago, has increased its capacity to serve more customers 24 hours during the #StayHome initiative, Khaleej Times reported.
The move is in line with the UAE government’s call to the public to stay at home to stem the spread of coronavirus.
‘We’re not here to make you wait days, or even half a day, however potentially somewhat longer than the usual 15 minutes, as we have increased our delivery radius to provide greater benefit for the residents and citizens of Dubai,” Mohammed Yildirim, Managing Director UAE, said.
Social distancing and contactless delivery are also observed by its riders, according to Yildirim.
Residents and citizens in Dubai can avail the service through the Talabat app available on IOS Appstore and Google Play.
