Indonesia confirms 114 new COVID-19 cases, total now at 1,528 

The Indonesian government has confirmed 114 new cases of coronavirus disease or COVID-19. 

This brings the total number of cases to 1,528, according to the health ministry. 

Another 14 people in the country have died from the virus, bringing the total number of fatalities  to 136.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo also declared a national public health emergency over the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday.

He also announced measures to help people with lower incomes amid the pandemic.

Indonesia has also banned foreign travel to and from country to prevent the spread of the virus.
