At least 25,000 workers in Ras Al Khaimah will be tested for the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap), Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), and Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (Rakez) launch the initiative to make sure that workers are COVID-19 free.
“More than 1,500 workers have already been screened in the last three days since the campaign was launched. Multiple medical teams, including doctors and paramedics have been deployed by the NMC Royal Medical Centre to help the process,” Thomas Joseph, manager of the centre said.
“As many as 25,000 workers are expected to be screened as part of this campaign,” he added.
Medical teams will be visiting different companies to conduct the testing in companies.
“The vitals, including temperature, respiratory rate, pulse, blood pressure and, where appropriate, blood oxygen saturation, are measured are measured as well to identify the state of health of all workers,” Dr KM Mathew, medical director of NMC Royal Medical Centre said.
