BREAKING: COVID-19 cases in PH jump to 1,546, death toll now at 78

The Department of Health has revealed that 128 new confirmed coronavirus disease or COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country bringing the total 1,546 on Monday.
The number of new confirmed cases was slightly lower compared to previous days when the country witnessed huge jump in number of COVID-19 cases.
DOH also reported that 7 patients have died from the virus increasing the number of fatalities to 78.
No new cases of recovery were recorded. The number of patients who recovered from the virus remains at 42.
Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire said that five laboratories have been accredited by the department and can conduct at least 200 tests daily for suspected COVID-19 cases.
The main center, the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, on the other hand can now handle up to 1,000 tests for COVID-19.
