Germany bans gatherings of 2 or more people amid COVID-19 pandemic

Germany imposed a ban on gatherings of two or more people in a bid to slow to the spread of coronavirus disease.
The stringent measure does not cover families, however, according to German authorities.
Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia Armin Laschet stressed that the government is attempting to reduce contact between non-immediate members of the family.
Laschet said the ban would be effective beginning March 13 and will last until April 19.
Police and local authorities would enforce the new rule, and violaters will be fined with 25,000 EUR (99,000 Dhs).
Meanwhile, services such as salon, hairdressers, tattoo and spas were shut while medical centers and groceries will remain open.
The country is scrambling to contain the virus, which has infected 24,000 and killed 92 people as of March 22.
