Abu Dhabi Economy temporarily closes fitness centers, bodybuilding halls, health clubs

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has ordered the temporary suspension of operations of all health clubs, fitness centers, and bodybuilding halls across the emirate as part of the country-level precautionary measures taken to stem the transmission of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
 
ADDED said the suspension is until the end of this month.

Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of ADDED, said the recent decision is part of the additional steps taken by the government of Abu Dhabi to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. 
 
“All departments concerned have to ensure compliance and immediate enforcement of the new decision,” he added.

There will be inspection teams that will carry out field campaigns and take legal action against the violators.
