The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported two additional cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines, raising the number of confirmed cases to 5.
DOH identified the fourth case as a 48-year-old Filipino who returned in the country from Japan last February 25.
He experienced symptoms of the virus and was admitted to Research Institute for Tropical Medicine on March 3.
The Health Department said he is now in stable condition.
The fifth case was a 62-year-old Filipino who sought consultation last March 1. He had no known travel history outside the country.
The patient was admitted to a hospital in Metro Manila with severe pneumonia on March 1.
