China reported 44 fatalities due to COVID-19 on Friday, the lowest figure recorded in its daily tally.
The National Health Commission (NHC) said the death toll in mainland China now stands at 2,788.
NHC said the number of recovered patients outnumbered the new infected cases for 10 consecutive days.
A total of 36,117 patients infected with the novel coronavirus had been discharged from hospital by the end of Thursday, according to the commission.
Meanwhile, 327 new cases were confirmed bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 78,824.
