South Korea reports 334 new cases of COVID-19

South Korea reported 334 additional cases of COVID-19 on Thursday bringing the tally to 1,595.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (KCDC) said 307 of new cases were in Daegu City, where the religious sect linked to the outbreak is located.

As of February 27, KCDC recorded 13 fatalities due to the virus.

The Health Ministry was alarmed that virus has spread widely in the country as Seoul reported a total number of 55 confirmed cases, while Busan recorded 58.

Meanwhile, Yonhap News Agency reported that around 56,395 suspected cases already tested, with 35, 298 of which tested negative while the rest remains in quarantine.

COVID-19 has spread to six continents, infecting 82,207 people and killing 2,801.
