Bahrain reports seven new cases of COVID-19

Bahrain reported seven new cases of COVID-19, raising the total number to 33.
Bahrain’s Health Ministry said six infected tested positive upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport from Iran.
The infected patients were transferred to Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Medical Center for isolation and treatment, the health ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that all individuals in contact with the infected patients have also been quarantined to prevent the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, a Bahraini citizen who arrived in Bahrain before Iran announced the outbreak tested positive for COVID-19.
The citizen, who called 444 having presented COVID-19 symptoms were quickly transferred to isolation for treatment.
The Ministry reiterated that they will continue intensifying epidemiological monitoring at its entry points, particularly at Bahrain International Airport, as well as testing all existing suspected cases to ensure containment of the virus.
