Two Italians with COVID-19 die

An elderly man and another woman in Italy are among the most recent victims of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to a report by Daily Mail quoting local authorities, the 78-year-old man passed away in a hospital in northeastern Italy on Friday evening.
The second person who died was a woman whose identity is yet to be released.

Based on the latest report presented by Lombardy councilor Giulio Gallera, there were already six Italians who tested positive for the disease. Authorities state that this is the first known case of local transmissions in Italy.
The elderly man who died may have contracted the virus after he met a friend who had recently returned from China.

Only a Chinese tourist who died last week in France was the first reported fatality in Europe.
With this, residents of the northern towns of Codogno and Castiglione d’Adda were urged to stay at home as medical tests continued especially with the people that had close contact with the fatalities.
