Hindu temple in Bur Dubai reopens following early morning fire

Two small novelty stores just below the Hindu temple in Bur Dubai, Dubai has caught fire on early Monday morning.
Indian businessman and temple caretaker Vasu Shroff, quoted in a report by Khaleej Times, said that the temple did not sustain any damages.

It was the security guard who saw the smoke come out of the closed shutters.
The Civil Defense authorities were also alerted, and they put out the fire before it could spread any further.
According to Shroff, the cause of the fire was a short circuit because of a freezer that overheated.
Power was cut as a safety protocol to avoid any further short circuits.

It is expected that the temple will reopen today as Hindu expatriates are expected to celebrate Mahashivratri, a Hindu Festival on Feb. 18.
They are expecting thousands of Hindu expatriates to visit today.
