China reported Tuesday that 98 people have died due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
This means 1,868 deaths from mainland China while 5 more deaths were recorded in Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan and France.
Chinese health officials said that 1,807 cases were recorded on Monday bring the cases in the epicenter of the outbreak to 59,989.
41,957 patients have been hospitalized in Hubei, including 1,853 who are in critical condition.
The health authority reported that 7,862 patients have been discharged.
The new coronavirus has infected 73,429 people mostly from mainland China.
