Court orders arrest of Trillanes, 10 others for conspiracy to sedition

A Quezon City court ordered the arrest of former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and 10 others for conspiracy to commit sedition, CNN Philippines reported.
Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 138 issued an arrest warrant against Trillanes, Peter Joemel Advincula and their cohorts for circulating videos dubbed as ‘Ang Totoong Narcolist’ alleging that President Rodrigo Duterte and members of the first family are involved in illegal drugs.
A Php 10,000 bail is set for their provisional liberty.
Fr. Flaviano Villanueva and Fr. Albert Alejo already posted bail and their warrants have been recalled.
Others personalities charged are Joel Saracho, Boom Enriquez, Eduardo Acierto, Yolanda Ong, Vicente Romano III, Jonnel Sangalang, and a certain “Monique.”
Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Olivia Torrevillas explained during a press briefing that “those accused have been charged for circulating malicious libels and fabricating evidence to make it appear that Duterte and his family are involved in drug trade as an act of revenge.”
Under Article 141 of the Revised Penal Code, the plot or conspiracy to commit sedition shall be punished with reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment.
