Valet driver charged for stealing from workmate's car in Dubai

An Asian hotel valet driver was charged at Dubai Court of First Instance for stealing cash from his workmate’s vehicle.
He was arrested on November 27 after the hotel’s security supervisor found out that he stole the Dh20-bill left by his colleague, reported Khaleej Times.
His colleague left the cash on purpose to catch the culprit behind theft incidents at the hotel.
Two Emirati customers complained of losing valuables, a Dh50,000 worth watch and a $500 (Dh1,835) cash last November 24.
The 31-year-old defendant was the primary suspect behind the incidents, according to the security supervisor.
During the investigation, the supervisor recounted how the defendant took the bait when they told him to park his colleague’s vehicle.
“We found he took the money when we checked that car right after he parked it,” he told the prosecution.
The defendant confessed to the crime and was charged with theft and attempted theft.
The Dubai court will sentence him on February 26.
