Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered a manhunt search for a man believed to be a Chinese national seen defecating in an area in Intramuros, Manila.

“Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has ordered MPD Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT) chief Police Major Rosalino Ibay Jr. to conduct a manhunt operation against the Chinese national caught defecating publicly in Intramuros,” the statement said.

Moreno has also directed the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila (DTCAM) chief Charlie Duñgo to coordinate with Intramuros Administration regarding the incident.

“No verified report. We are trying to get in touch with the one who posted this, but he is not responding. We are concerned that instead of calling attention of guard who is posted there if true, the one who posted it is using this for anti-Chinese sentiment. We checked the site, its clean, and no waste seen on site,” the Intramuros Administration told reporters.

A netizen named Dos Alvarado shared the photos while he was on a class tour. He said that he was unsure if the man was indeed of Chinese national, but the man later on joined a group of Chinese tourists.
