A court in Umm Al Quwain fined an Asian man Dh50,000 after authorities found him guilty of violating IT laws by selling Internet services to the public through a booster.
Police arrested the man after Etisalat’s anti-fraud section reported him, according to Al Bayan newspaper.
Authorities found the man guilty of violating federal laws governing the telecommunication sector by illegally selling Etisalat services to the public.
In court, he confessed that he installed a booster on top of the building where he lives and provided internet services to residents for money.
