Two Asian housemaids choked to death in their sleep after they forgot to remove the burning charcoal stove out of their room in Dubai.
The two unnamed maids had lit the stove to keep themselves warm and sat chatting in their room late at night.
Police said they found the two maids dead in their room in the morning and forensic examination showed they died because of inhalation of carbon monoxide.
Crime fighting chief at Dubai’s police Colonel Ahmed Al-Marri said: ”They apparently were tired and fell asleep… they had not realized the danger of their behaviour… unfortunately, such tragedies happen quite often during winter.”
He said that their employer discovered the bodies in the morning after he noticed that they did not got up on time in the morning.
“He thought they have gone out of the villa… he then went into their room and found both of them dead in their beds,” he said.
