No cases of coronavirus, close monitoring of 'mystery virus' – UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has assured there were no reported cases in the UAE of the coronavirus emerging in China.
In a statement released by the ministry through the Emirates News Agency (WAM), they said that they are closely monitoring the latest updates on this.
The ministry reassured that the “outbreak does not pose any risk to the UAE’s public health at present”.
Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al-Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary of Health Centers and Clinics Sector, emphasized that the Ministry of Health has taken all precautionary measures in cooperation with its strategic partners, and is ready to deal with any travel-related coronavirus cases to be detected in the country.
All ports, Al-Rand added, are now on standby to handle coronavirus cases.
However, he highlighted that there’s a need to take standard procedures when detecting any case, including informing health authorities, following necessary procedures and transporting patients to specific hospitals.
In line with this, the ministry advises the public to follow preventive health measures and review educational flyers available on its website and official channels.
