Ajman Police arrested two Africans on charges of swindling a large sum of money from a local man by claiming they can convert black paper into real dollars.
The unnamed man at first believed them and handed the two Dh15,000 for a bagful of dollar-sized black paper and a spray bottle they claimed will bring him a fortune.
The deal was reached at a local hotel room and the two impostors told the man not to spray the papers at home and wait for some time.
“He waited more than enough but the black papers remain as they are… he then realized that he was a victim of a scam by the two Africans…. he carried the bag and went straight to the police,” Emarat Al Youm daily said.
