Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) urged the public to submit new bus routes via the RTA Dubai smart app.
Director of Planning and Business Development Adel Shakeri urged the public to take part in a new feature of the RTA Dubai app that allows them to suggest routes to make their daily commute more convenient.
The Dubai smart app new feature got 3003 interactions with 2590 proposals for new bus routes, as per reports from RTA.
It received 413 votes for the creation of the bus route from Al Qusais to Al Maktoum International Airport while 265 voted for it.
The new feature also received 148 votes from the users for the creation of Gold Souq-JAFZA bus route.
Shakeri noted that the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) praised the new feature for being the first of its kind.
Meanwhile, the Director of Planning and Business Development commended the public and RTA commitment for the improvement of public transportation.
