Pope Francis slaps hand of woman who grabbed him

Pope Francis couldn’t help but slap the hands of a pilgrim who grabbed his hand and yanked him towards her while he was walking in St. Peter’s Square on New Year’s Eve.
The Pope wanted to pull himself away as her grip seems to cause him pain, as seen in the video shared by The Guardian.
A visibly annoyed Pope Francis shouted at the woman.
Pope Francis has apologized for his “bad example yesterday”.
In a message he delivered this afternoon in Vatican, he acknowledged that people sometimes lose their patience.

This was not the first time it happened to the Pope. Back in 2016 when he visited Mexico, his shirt was also pulled by one of the pilgrims that he yanked forward and almost hit another pilgrim.
