A group of cyber security experts warned against malicious holiday greeting links being sent on social media.
The Cyber Security Philippines – Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) on Monday said that once the link has been clicked or opened, the holiday greetings would redirect the user to a website asking for their data, and will then send a similar message to the victim’s contacts.
CERT warns Filipino online users to watch out for these links:
- https://wish-you. co
- https://wish4u. co
- https://my-msg. co
- https://look-me. co
- https://surprise4u. me
- https://hookgist. com
- https://see-magic. co
- https://mera-style. com
- https://whatsapp-style. co
- https://see-magic. co
- https://my-love. co
The group said that if an online user has been victimized, he or she should immediately change their passwords for their online banking portals and social media accounts.
They also recommend a reset on browsers, update on anti-malware, and a complete scan of devices.
Here’s what happens if you clicked the link as well as CERT’s recommended course of actions for those who have opened the message.
