The owners of Lambanog products which killed at least 15 people in Quezon and Laguna broke their silence to prove that their products are safe and there could be someone sabotaging their Lambanog items.
In an interview with GMA News, Emma Ocaya and Nicanor Delos Reyes said that the lambanog products were sold from their store which they obtained from Alfredo Rey.
“Hindi po ako masamang tao, alam na alam po nila. Kaya po ako’y humihingi ng tawad sa kanila. Pero kami po’ y talagang tutulong sa abot ng aming makakaya,” Ocaya said.
Delos Reyes, on the other hand, asked for foregiveness. He added this the first time that this happened in his long years of selling lambanog.
“Humihingi ako ng pasensya sa inyo na katagal ko namang nagtitinda doon ay wala namang nangyayari pa yung ganun. Hindi ko alam kung ano talaga ang nangyari,” Delos Reyes said.
For the manufacturer, Rey said that he has been in the lambanog industry for five decades. He also added that he only use pure coconut and natural processes for his lambanog products.
“Meron pong kuwan yung aking anak kung sa kwan, siya po ang may kwan ng FDA. Kaya lang po ako ay nakikisabay lamang po ako. Yun po ang ginagamit ko,” Rey said.
He also showed to the media his manufacturing site of lambanog products in Candelaria, Quezon.
Rey even took a shot of his lambanog product to prove that they were safe.
For his lawyer, they believe that they are being sabotaged.
“May posibilidad, sabotahe siguro sa negosyo. Maaring mayroong tao o mga bagay na nakapagdulot ng ganyang kaperwisyohan,” Atty. Crisostomo Buela, Rey’s lawyer said.
