A Dubai court fined a 20-year-old girl Dh5,000 after she was found guilty of defaming a famous plastic surgery centre following an operation on her face.
The girl went online to hurl abuses at the centre and its surgeons, branding them losers, after the surgery which she said was a total failure.
“She insulted the clinic and its staff members online just because she did not like the surgery they performed on her face,” Dubai’s prosecution office said in statement, carried by Emarat Al Youm daily.
The statement did not reveal the identity of the girl, but referred to her as Jomana, who it said was “preoccupied with how she looks and what she wears.”
It said Jomana had undergone many plastic operations although she did not need such procedures, adding that she liked to “act and look like celebrities.”
“She defamed a clinic which has a good reputation and is famous among celebrities…she wanted to revenge just because she did not like the operation performed on her face,” the statement said.
