Malacañang said it will not interfere in the rape case filed against television evangelist Apollo Quiboloy.
“We will not intrude into that private domain,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said during a press conference today.
“The rule of law in this country always prevails regardless of who are involved.”
Quiboloy, founder of Christian group, Kingdom of Jesus Christ, has been accused of rape, qualified trafficking and child abuse by Blenda Portugal, a former worker of the KJC.
Portugal claimed that she was raped by Quiboloy when she was 17.
Quiboloy, who is based in Davao City, is a friend and staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte.
