Philippine Business Council Abu Dhabi hails The Filipino Times for credibility, media transparency

The Philippine Business Council in Abu Dhabi (PBC-AUH) has recognized The Filipino Times (TFT) as the recipient of ‘Outstanding Credibility in Media’ during its 2019 PBC Honors and Year End Gala Night held at the Marriott Hotel Downtown in the capital last December 18.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Hjayceelyn Quintana, who was among the night’s honorable guests, commended the publication for responsible journalism that helps promote the image of Filipinos towards fellow expats and other nationalities in a positive light.

“I congratulate The Filipino Times team on receiving from The Philippine Business Council – Abu Dhabi the well-deserved recognition for ‘Outstanding Credibility in Media’. The award should serve as an inspiration for fellow media organizations to always aspire for credibility through responsible and balanced reporting, a true hallmark of journalism. Likewise, such recognition shines a light on the talent and dedication of Filipino journalists, whose work shape the perception of the larger multicultural audience in UAE of us Filipinos as a people. Kudos and more power to TFT!,” said Quintana.

TFT PBC Honors 3 2 1

The recognition was received by TFT General Manager Vince Ang which was awarded onstage by Ambassador Quintana, Consul General Marford Angeles, and PBC-AUH Chairman Deborah Gay Dayrit.

In attendance during the gala night were representatives from the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry including Director of Delegations & International Representation Mohammed Al Rafaei; Delegations Specialist Omar Wahbi; Protocol Specialist Nawaf Al Jneibi along with Assistant Labor Attache Jesus ‘Jobo’ Magsaysay III from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), and Welfare Officer Melvin Caseda from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The Philippine Business Council Abu Dhabi is a non-profit organization established on 2003 and having a licensed by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and recognized by Philippine Chamber of Commerce Industry.

Founded in June 2003, the group aims to promote private sector trade and investment between the Philippines and the UAE as well as to provide assistance, advice and promotional support to the Filipino business people in the UAE.
