PNP identifies suspect behind abduction of Chinese woman in Makati City

The Philippine National Police revealed that they have identified the suspects on the abduction of a Chinese woman in Makati City last week.

The PNP said that they are now in pursuit of the suspects and even identified the owner of the van, which was used to kidnap the victim.

“Ang pag-abduct ng ilang Chinese nationals, ‘yan ay agad nating tinugunan at inimbestigahan. Natukoy na natin ang mga suspek,” PNP Spokesperson kidnap the victim, according to spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac. told ABS-CBN News.

“Ang pinakahuli, sa Makati, patuloy na tinutugis ng ating pulis ang suspek. Natukoy na ang may-ari ng van na ginamit,” he added.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Zhou Mei, which was heard screaming in a viral video on Monday.

The PNP added that they are now closely monitoring Chinese nationals involved in criminal operations.

“Malakas ang ating pakikipagugnayan sa embahada ng China at counterpart ng pulis sa China para mapigilan ang ganitong mga insidente,” Banac added.

Data show that there is an increase in kidnapping cases involving Chinese nationals.

17 Chinese nationals were kidnapped in 2018 compared to 8 cases last 2017.
