A female passenger was reportedly stung by a scorpion while on flight to Atlanta in the United States.

The woman did not realize what has happened until she went to the plane’s lavatory while the plane was already in mid-air.

TMZ reported that the stinging felt more intense and that she saw a scorpion falling from her pants when she checked.

Plane crew consulted a physician who provided medical guidance.

“Upon landing in Atlanta, the flight was met by medical personnel and the customer was transported to a local hospital,” the airline said in a statement.

It was not immediately known how the scorpion got into the plane.
