Kayapa farmers receive Php3M from NAPC

The farmers in the upland of Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya have received the Php 3,000,000 financial assistance given by the National Anti-Poverty Comission (NAPC).

Kayapa Mayor Elizabeth Balasya was handed a check from NAPC Sec. and lead convenor Noel Felongco through the joint signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between LGU Kayapa and NAPC.

Pedro Galate, tribal affairs assistant of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) said that the Php2 million will be used for the construction of the Organic Trading Center (OTC) that will support the organic farmers.

“P1 million will be divided equally for the purchase of a vehicle and livelihood capital for the Kayapa Organic Farmers Association (KOFA)”, he said.

The organic farmers were pleased with the assistance.

They’ll have a chance to boost the potential of their municipality in organic farming, he added.

Kayapa is one of the major commercial and organic vegetable-producing towns in Nueva Vizcaya.
