All pride and glory aside, cash bonuses will be given away by President Rodrigo Duterte as he invites all Filipino medalists on December 18 at Malacañang who participated in 2019 SEA Games.
The President will top up the financial package from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) by giving P250,000 for the gold medalist, P150,000 for silver medalist, and P100,000 for bronze.
Meanwhile, the Republic Act 10699 known as the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act stated that a gold medalist for SEA Games will receive P300,000, P150,000 for the silver medalist, and P60,000 for bronze medalist.
The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) will take its share by using its allotted funds at a Christmas party they organized for December 17.
