BI arrests 10 Indian nationals illegally staying in PH

The Bureau of Immigration has arrested four illegal aliens in General Santos City.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the Indian nationals were arrested last December 3 after receiving complaints from residents about their 5-6 lending scheme.

In a statement, BI intelligence officer Melody Gonzales said the 10 Indian nationals were apprehended during the operation, however six of them were able to present valid visa. The other four presented invalid ones.

They were detained in Davao City pending their deportation, the six of them were released afterwards.

“There will be no let-up in our campaign against illegal aliens. And we reiterate our appeal to the public not to hesitate in reporting the presence of illegal aliens in any part of the country, including the far flung areas of the country,” Morente said.
