Dubai Police arrested an Asian visitor for using a forged Emirates ID.
A policeman on a patrol in Satwa area suspected the 28-year-old Asian (name withheld), who was standing near a bus and asked for his ID.
The cop found that the identity on the card was a fake.
He took the Asian to the police station, where he at first insisted the ID is authentic.
After going through the system, investigators discovered that the card belongs to an Arab woman who left the country.
“He confessed to paying Dh18,000 to a friend to get him that ID from the Arab woman… The prosecutor decided to refer him to the criminal court on forgery charges,” the Arabic language daily Emarat Alyoum said.
