Typhoon Tisoy unleashed its wrath on Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. The hardest hit areas included Albay province.
The Legazpi Airport has been slammed by the typhoon, leaving severe damage to the airport’s property. Portions of the its roof and ceiling were ripped off, glass fixtures were shattered and seats were broken.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines already deployed their security personnel to the airport. The agency is now working to establish communication of airports in the Bicol Region.
Typhoon Tisoy made landfall early Tuesday in Sorsogon, traversing the region and prompting the evacuation of 200,000 people.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said more than 200,000 people have been preemptively evacuated in Regions V, VIII, CALABARZON and MIMAROPA
