Businessman Eissa Rashed Khalfan Alreyami wanted to make his celebration of the UAE National Day by completing a 350km marathon.
The 54-year-old man was seen holding the country’s flag to do something special for the UAE.
Alreyami is a sports enthusiast and he said there’s no better way to celebrate the national day than by walking across the emirates.
Alreyami hails from Ajman and started his journey from Fujairah across the seven emirates barefoot.
“I began my walk/run on November 21 from Fujairah flag pole where I had the support of the police officials. Also, some members of the royal family joined to flag off my solo marathon,” he said in an interview with Khaleej Times.
He carried a backpack during his 11-day trip. He was set to finish the marathon in Abu Dhabi on December 2 but he has to get permission first from the Abu Dhabi police.
Alreyami said the marathon is life-changing and he is grateful for the support of people when he was doing the marathon.
His brother joined him in the marathon who was there to provide water and refreshments.
“It was not only my family and friends who wished me luck and encouraged me. I felt the true spirit of the UAE on this journey. I saw people of so many cultures come together,” he said.
The man walked 5-6 hours every day to complete his mission.
