The death toll from the accident involving a passenger bus that plunged into a frozen river in the Transbaikal Region in Russia’s Far East has risen to 19.
According to the Emergencies Ministry quoted by TASS (Russian News Agency), there were also 22 injured in the said accident.
Earlier reports said there were 15 people killed and 18 injured.
The bus was carrying 43 passengers and a driver. There were a total of 41 people injured in the road accident where 19 were killed including two children.
There were 14 people that were hospitalized and three of them are in serious condition.
The bus was en route from Sretensk to Chita when it veered off the bridge and plunged into the frozen river.
The bus driver failed to control his vehicle after a tire burst.
