Korean ambassador in PH gives Duterte BTS album

South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-man gave President Rodrigo Duterte an album of the worldwide pop sensation and K-pop boy group ‘BTS’.

The gift comes after both the Philippines and Korea celebrate the 70th year of the two country’s diplomatic relations.

Han gave the album during his courtesy call with the President, and he revealed it to during a press briefing in Malacañang.

“Korean wave such as K-pop, Koreanovela, K-food, and Korean cosmetics is spreading across this country, and it’s my job to galvanize the Korean culture in the society of the Philippines,” the ambassador said.

Han also explained why he gave Duterte a BTS album.

“When I met President Duterte, I gave him one BTS album. BTS is one of the very famous idols. This will give a good impact to have a better relationship between Korea and the Philippines,” he added.

Duterte is set to visit Korea to attend the ASEAN-South Korea Commemorative Summit on November 25 to 27.
