VP Robredo on not having Cabinet post: ‘Ginagawa ko ang lahat nasa Cabinet man o hindi’

Vice President Leni Robredo said it does not matter for her if she is part of the Duterte Cabinet or not.

“It did not matter whether it is a Cabinet post or not when I accepted the job,” she said in an interview.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday this week, said Robredo’s appointment as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) is not equivalent to a Cabinet position.

The vice president added that she will let the Duterte government decided on what her actual functions are as anti-drug czar.

Basta ako ginagawa ko ‘yung lahat whether member ako ng Cabinet or hindi,” she explained.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that the withdrawal of the Cabinet position was because of her meetings with foreign entities like the United Nations and the United States which have previously expressed disagreement with the government’s war on drugs.
