A criminal court in Ajman sentenced three Asian men and a woman to five years in prison and ordered their deportation after they were convicted of human trafficking.
The four, aged between 32 and 48 years, were found guilty of locking up six Asian girls and forcing them to engage in prostitution.
Three of the girls were brought in from their home country after they were told they would be given jobs.
“After they arrived in the UAE, they were taken to an apartment in Ajman and locked up…they were then beaten up and forced to indulge in vice,” Albayan daily said.
The girls were detained at the convicted woman’s apartment while one of the defendants was guarding them. The two others were soliciting for customers for the girls, the paper said.
