Unique number plates in UAE sold for Dh13 million at auction

Sharjah Police, in cooperation with Emirates Auction, were able to raise Dh13.5 million in proceeds at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre on Saturday by selling unique number plates.

The plates auctioned off have a total sale of Dh13,495.00.

Number plate ‘9’ of category ‘3’ topped the auction sold for Dh3,610,000.

The plate ‘16’ came in second with Dh1,200,000. Plate ‘88’ came third by Dh1,030,000. Plate ‘25’ was sold for Dh1,020,000, and plate ‘343’ by Dh190,000, and plate ‘108’ by Dh170,000. There were around 50 unique plates sold during the auction.

Omar Matar Al Mannai, executive director of Emirates Auction, was happy that the auction achieved its purpose.

“We are glad that the event has achieved its set targets in terms of the heavy turnout, the exciting atmosphere, public satisfaction, and auction proceeds. It was tough but friendly competition on distinctive number plates,” he said.

They also expressed their gratitude to the Sharjah police for their cooperation.

“This auction is part of our collaboration and coordination with Sharjah Police, thanks to our solid strategic partnership and continued success, and our eagerness to please those wishing to acquire distinctive vehicle number plates,” he added.
