Parents of a 20-year-old student in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur will no longer see their son receiving his diploma on graduation day after he got electrocuted and died while cutting the branches of a tree at his teacher’s backyard.
Benedict Gomuyen, a BS Forestry student of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic College in Sta. Maria, went together with his teacher Elena Ato to do the errand, says a report from Pangmasa.
However, Gomuyen did not notice the electrical wire cable and accidentally touched it. He fell from the tree after that.
He was rushed to the Ilocos Sur Gabriela Silang General Hospital but was declared dead.
Police are still studying the possible charges to be filed for the teacher.
