The driver who dragged a traffic enforcer for several meters after committing traffic violation got a dressing down on Sunday from Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Moreno went to the Manila Police District Station 3 and confronted the suspect, 54-year-old Orlando Ricardo Dizon Jr., who denied that he intended to harm the traffic enforcer, , GMA News reported.

But Moreno did not believe his claim based on the CCTV footage that he watched.

“Hindi mo papatayin kinakaladkad mo, tapos ibabangga mo pa. Winasiwas mo pa,” Moreno answered.

Dizon, a resident of Quezon City, was arrested after dragging Adrian Lim, of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), for several meters.

Lim questioned Dizon for disregarding lane marking.

However, instead of stopping Dizon drove on in attempt to escape with Lim holding on to the driver to protect himself from being hit by the vehicle.

The incident occurred along Gelinos Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Lim suffered from bruises on his arm and left side of his body.

“Naawa ako todits e (referring to Lim). Alam mo ‘yung kapit niya. Hindi ‘yun para hulihin siya. ‘Yun ‘yung kapit para iligtas niya ang sarili njya. Hindi e, winawasiwas pa nito,” he said.

Moreno said appropriate charges will be filed against Dizon.

He also called on the Land Transportation Office to cancel Dizon’s license to drive.

Moreno added that Dizon should also undergo a drug test.
