Four men victimized by illegal recruiters bound for Abu Dhabi were nabbed by Immigration authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The four men attempted to escape the country as tourists, according to a statement released by the Bureau of Immigration.
Bureau of Immigration (BI) port operations division chief Grifton Medina said that the four men were stopped by authorities at the departure area of the NAIA Terminal 1 last Friday after attempting to board their flight to Abu Dhabi.
The four men reportedly pretended to be tourists bound for the UAE but later on discovered that they will proceed to Ammam, Jordan and their final destination will be in Libya.
The BI said that the men were hired as aircondition technicians and pipe fitters.
Immigration officials said that the men’s return tickets are also not valid.
