A 22-year-old French student sustained 90-percent burns after setting himself on fire because he could no longer survive on a £388 subsistence.
BBC reported that it was his girlfriend who called the attention of authorities about his plan.
He reportedly set himself on fire in front of a busy university restaurant in Lyon.
According to the report, the student blamed France President Emmanuel Macron, Francois Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy, far-right leader Marine Le Pen and the European Union for “killing him.”
Hours before his self-immolation happened, the posted on Facebook that he no longer had the strength to face the financial burden of living on £388 (Dh1,872.11) a month.
