A 17-year-old boy in Thailand reportedly collapsed and died after doing all-night playing sessions during his school holidays.
Parents of Piyawat Harikun said he would stay up all night hooked on to his PC doing multiplayer battle games and would continue it during the day at their home in Udon Thani, northern Thailand, Daily Mail reported.
It was on Monday afternoon when Jaranwit found his son already lifeless and slumped against a PC tower on the floor.
Being an air force officer, Jaranwit tried to revive his son but failed.
Medics, who came and examined the boy’s body, revealed that Piyawat did from a stroke. They said it may have been caused by playing the computer constantly throughout the night.
In light of his son’s death, Jaranwit warned parents to be strict with their children’s gaming hours for them to avoid the same fate as his son’s.
